  • How long in advance will I receive a warning?

    EDIS' early warning time may vary depending on your location and the depth and magnitude of the earthquake. However, EDIS sends an alert before the destructive waves of the earthquake (S-wave) reach you. Because each region has a different geological structure and earthquake risk, warning times can be affected by geographical location. For example, areas closer to the epicenter of an earthquake may receive the warning sooner, while more remote areas may take a little longer.

  • Can I still receive an alert if I am outside the earthquake zone?

    Depending on the magnitude of the earthquake, if you are 500 km away from the earthquake, you will be warned with the settings you will make on your Edis Box device.

  • If my phone is not connected to the internet, how will I receive an alert?
